Ready, steady, go! A brand new and exciting gaming studio is launching in The Meads Shopping Centre!

OverWorld an esports gaming arena that also offers sessions like the after-school clubs which is due to open its doors on Saturday, 26th of January in The Meads Shopping Centre, Farnborough. OverWorld is currently based in Fleet, Hampshire, but has now expanded and will be running sessions in the new outlet in The Meads Shopping Centre. The store’s aim is to engage and encourage the younger demographic to play against or with friends and develop a better understanding of potential digital careers and activities.

The shop is eager to join the local community and encourages relationships with local stakeholders, starting by inviting Farnborough College of Technology students to test out their systems on Thursday, 17th of January in preparation for the store’s opening on the 26th of January. OverWorld is working closely with Farnborough College of Technology to offer out work experiences to their students, which will help them with their course, that could definitely develop into full-time placements for the right candidates in the store.

The store will be located between Prezzo and Wilko’s in the shopping centre and will offer a special rate of £5 per hour on their opening weekend, starting from 12pm on both Saturday 26th January and Sunday 27th January. Their regular store opening hours are 2pm to 8pm on weekdays and 11am to 8pm on weekends.

OverWorld Manager, Mark Pickering commented: “We’re looking to innovate the High Street and bring a community of gamers together. We will be holding regular tournaments where players can compete for fantastic prizes as well as work together to build communication and leadership skills in squad sessions. This is the first of its kind in the UK to this scale and this is just the beginning of a range of things to come from OverWorld.”
